Memorial Weekend 2013
Duke and Matilda will be parents in 2 months!! I bred them this weekend so if nothing malfunctions then we should have puppies! so if you know of anyone who wants a puppy let me know!
This weekend our youth group was at the cabin I didnt have my camera so no pictures :) We had an awsome time and it was very relaxing. It was very chilly unfortunatly so we were mostly in the cabin on Friday night we played some card games and talked :). Saturday morning I got up at 8 and we had a delicous breakfast and then my friend Lori and I went on a walk it was awsome we walked a mile and then came back we played a game of volleyball just us girls that was awsome. I went in and I was sitting in the family room and I was falling asleep so I went down and took an hour nap until supper time. For supper we had hamburgers (they grilled 120 burgers) We then played perpetual comotion it is a very interesting game and can be quite loud :) then we had a spiritual activity which consisted of singing. Then our youth leader Kevin Hurst and his sister Kristi sang a song he made up about coffee. We then made marinated beef cubes over the fire very delicous.
Sunday we got up at 8 and had breakfast then Gerald Martin out spiritual advisor for the youth group had the sermon and we sang a few songs. We then went outside and I watched as they played volleyball until dinner time at 12 then we got all packed up and cleaned the cabin up and loaded the trailer and vans and headed off I fell asleep on the 2hr drive home then we came home and I put Duke and Matilda together and they locked. I then spent some time with both of them and had a relaxing evening.
We are taking off from work today and we packed the ebay stuff this morning and then we went to Olive Garden for dinner now we are going to go out and move the chicken house and put a fence up and let the little chicks out :) yippee. They will probably start laying next month. we just need to find somone who want old chickens that occasionally lay.

Spring
Alot has been happening here at our place we have been very busy here of late taking care of customers. I am hoping dad can keep up with it all while Ruth Ann and I are gone for a week and half. Our chorus is going on tour in two weeks we are going on up into Canada to the Northern Youth Programs and then back to Pa.
The last couple days I have been doing paperwork and computer work :( not my most favorite job but it needs done I was doing it for the tractor business and the dog business. We bought a new printer that needs no ink to print and I have been having quite the time to hook/set it up. What we save in ink we will spend getting it hooked up :) not quite.
Last night I gave all four dogs baths and they now smell so good! I have a shampoo that last up to two weeks on smell and it is a medicated shampoo. I really like it and have been using it for a number of years because I had been having problems with ringworm and I haven't seen any for awhile now.
Matilda is in heat again and I have been trying to breed her and Duke and she is just like her mother where she takes forever to be ready to breed so I have been keeping a close eye on her. So if you know of anyone who needs/wants a puppy let me know if everything works out I will have pups in September.
The training is going good we have been working on being six feet away and giving commands and that has been quite the thing for her to get is that I am standing so far away and I still have to listen :) I am hoping she doesn't regress too much when she gets a whole month of not training.

FOR SALE: ACA gorgeous Golden Retriever female
Gorgeous Golden with wonderful personality. I sold her as a puppy and bought her back due to the circumstances. I took her to my vet they did a lyme/heartworm test and she checked negative so she is all clean and they gave her a rabies vaccination and checked hips and lungs so she is all good!
Her birth date is September 1, 2011. We started on basic training and she knows sit and stay but that is all. She is learning very quickly and has adapted to her new surroundings very good. I believe she would do very good with a lot of loves and hugs :)
That is all I have if you have any questions give me a call.

Fleas and Ticks
As we are coming into the spring season there is a ever going battle to keep your dog clean of ticks and fleas there are many good remedies out on the market that can help prevent/kill the pesky things.
I recently bought something called the tick twister because I walk my dogs through the woods and occasionally find ticks the ones I found were never attatched but I like to have things on hand just in case.
That is also with my flea and tick treatment I have tried most brands to see what I think and I think they pretty much are all the same. I use Hartz ultra guard.
This works quite well and lasts for a month! I buy it at my local Big Lots for $5 a box wich is very reasonable.
If I find a tick on a dog (wich I get my dogs lymes vacc.) I give them a bath with medicated shampoo to avoid any infection.
Well that is my take on fleas and ticks :) let me know what you think.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUKE
Duke is 1yr old on May 8, 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love him and happy to see the changes in him this past year!
