Christmas!!

Christmas is a great time of year it seems to bring the best out in people. For some reason people seem more generous and kind around that time of year. But why can't we have Christmas all year round? Why do we have to wait until the end of the year to be nice and giving?

And Christmas wasn't originally about gifts, santa, reign deer, and trees it was about the marvelous birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But over the years that seems to have been lost. Why do we take the reason for the season away and try to hide it.

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince Of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his Kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with Judgment and with Justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:6-7)

Good News and More Good News

Well alot has happened since I have been here. Yesterday someone commented on the fact that I will have been here 3 weeks on Sunday and it does not seem that long at all. I probably will be getting trained in for laundry very soon because they need someone badly, but they also need someone here to train me in and that won't happen for a bit.

The first week I was here I was off for three days because I had a feeding class where we learn how to feed the residents  and all the CNAs got a huge kick out of this because you have to feed eachother puréed food and that can be quite amusing to watch. Especially the group I had to work with 😃 it was probably quite the show!!

On my first day off it was cold and rainy out so we decided to go to a coffee shop and play games!! It was alot of fun we played " ticket to ride " and none of us knew how to play it so we played in pairs and it made for an interesting game 😃 playing the game you have a board with a map on then you have destination cards and when you have enough of train cars to get where you want to go you put little cars down on the board and you do it in little sections at a time. Well anyways it was so funny my teammate and I had already planned how we were going to be going from the beginning of the game and we cut one of the guys long trains off and then he couldn't do anything with them anymore because they we "dead" and you should have seen the look on his face it was so funny ,as we laid the cars down. We got so engrossed in our game we didn't realize we had spent 3 hours at the coffee shop!! It was a very good day!!

My second day off was the day before Christmas and nobody wanted to go into town because it would be a nightmare. So we decided we would save time and money and just go up to Elly (the guesthouse) and play games!! That was very interesting we had a fun group of people and we played Taboo for most of the day then we just sat around and talked until it was time to go down to the dorms to get ready for Christmas caroling. We went caroling for church people then came back to one of the guesthouses and ate some food 😃 which we do alot around here!!

Christmas Eve and Christmas day just did not feel like either was a holiday. I worked on both days and maybe that didn't help. On Christmas Day we had a huge feast and everyone except the CNAs had off after 11 so that was very nice but it just didn't feel like Christmas.

I have been walking pretty much every day and it is such a good workout because we have lots of hills around here and even if I don't loose any weight Inwill just be happy if I maintain it!! My housekeeping supervisor ,Shirley and I go walking together alot !! I love working and walking with her , we can talk and work together very well!! I am so happy I I can work with someone I enjoy working with!!

Well that is all for now!! For those of you who sent me a card it really brightens my days and thank you very much it really is greatly appreciated!!

Life at Mountain View!!

Life here at Mountain View is very fast paced and fun!! I enjoy my work very much. I am in housekeeping right now and I love cleaning the home. We clean one side of the hall one day and the other side the next day. And we clean doors and windows and other things after cleaning bathrooms all morning!

We have a social event every evening except for Monday nights. Monday is a free night but they usually play volleyball. Otherwise it usually is church, a banquet, or games 😃 it is alot of fun and I am enjoying the people here very much!!

I am here for Christmas and we are having the resident's Christmas party tomorrow and then we have a special supper. I hope you all have a good Christmas with your families!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Moving and Changes

Wow life is changing around our house dramatically this week and I am feeling a huge mixture of emotions. I am packing my things in my room in boxes and packing my clothes in suitcases. It seems so funny that my room is empty with boxes in the corner and suitcases and clothes strewn around the room. I wouldn't have packed my room all up but my family is buying a house in the spring and I may not be able to get home to help move and I don't want other people to pack my things.

I am getting excited and nervous all at one time ,especially now that the packing has begun and it has really begun to sink in that I am moving. I am leaving on Saturday and moving into Mountain View on Sunday and then beginning my new work on Monday.

I am spending lots of time with my dogs right now and enjoying every moment of it. On Sunday Ruth Ann took pictures of my dogs and I. It was more difficult than other years because Matilda is in heat and Duke couldn't understand why he couldn't spend time with her. We spent an hour trying to get a couple good pictures and we did succeed getting a few good ones.

Two weeks ago my parents had a farewell party for me and a lot of my friends came out and it was so nice to see them all together and being able to say one last goodbye. I got lots and lots of cards that were such an encouragement to me and I put them in a picture book and now I am going to take them along and look at them whenever I please.

That same week on Sunday the church had a commissioning service for me. It was so nice and  I wasn't even nervous when I stood up to give the speech ,I was so glad that I sat the whole way at the front so I couldn't see who was all behind me until I got up to talk. Then they had the message and then our Bishop asked me some questions then I kneeled down and our 5 ministers laid their hands on me and prayed for me and my journey down in VA.

This past week was my last week working at the shop and I cleaned up the entire bottom of the shop it was a lot of work because it was especially bad this year but it was so worth it because it is now all clean and dad will be able to find all the parts when I am gone. I will very miss working here and also miss all our very nice customers.

I hope you all have a blessed week.

Death with Dignity

There is a lot on the news and facebook right now about dying with dignity and I figured I would write my views and opinions about it. You may not agree with what I have to say on here but if you wish to comment please be nice.

I was away over the weekend and came home to see that Brittany Maynard had ended her own life because she had a stage 4 brain tumor. She had ended her life via pills on Saturday with her husband and mother by her side.

Now the reason I believe this is wrong is because I believe in doing this you are taking your life out of God's hands and saying "this is my life, my body and may do as I please with it" , and in a sense you are telling God you know better  than him when it is your time to go. He created us and knows better than anyone what we can handle in life and if he sees that you can handle cancer he will give you the courage, grace, and strength you need to get through it every step of the way.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
You may say that I have no experience in this area. No, I haven't experienced it first hand ,but I have had 3 aunts and an uncle that went through cancer and no it wasn't painless and nothing in life will ever be ,but they had God to lean on every step of the way and I believe that the reward of Heaven makes all the pain and suffering so worth it. To be able to see and live with Jesus every day makes every step and trial here on earth worth it all!!!

And you if you do choose the route to end your life you may never know in what way God could have used you later on in your days on this earth ,because God has a plan and a purpose for each one of us on this earth and he desires greatly to have each one in Heaven with him.

There is a lot more I could say on this subject but I think I will leave it there for now but I may touch on it more later.

Another Weekend in VA

Ruth Ann and I and a couple of our cousins headed down to Virginia again this weekend to visit her boyfriend and to help out with their school sale. We left Friday evening around 6:30 and went to pick up our cousins. And left from their house we were almost there around 2:30 were about 10 minutes away and are tired decided to blow out fortunately we had guys along to help change it. We arrived at the house we were staying at at 3:00 .

The next morning we got up at 8:00 then we went over to the school and things were well underway by then. My cousin Sarah and I went to the chicken stand where we were going to help out and we started to get trained into what we were going to be doing that day. We were the ones that were going to be getting all the food together for the orders. It was a very busy day we had some busy spurts and some slow spurts but we were pretty much busy the entire day. After our shift was over Sarah and I went back to the house and took a nap. Once we got up the guys decided they wanted to go to the snow flex on the way there we stopped at a sweet frog for some frozen yogurt. We spent about two hours at the snow flex and then we went back to the house and Tyler's mother had prepared pizza for us.

The next morning Tyler, Ruthann, Josh, Sarah, and I went for a hour and a half walk it was very refreshing. We then went back to the house ate breakfast and got ready for church. After church our cousins had to leave for home so they drove separately home. We then went back to Tyler's house and ate dinner that consisted of chicken mashed potatoes  and corn and frozen fruit for dessert. Ruth Ann and Tyler then went have a talk before we headed for home. We then packed up our stuff and headed for the six-hour ride home. We made it safely home with no car trouble so that was definitely a blessing!!!

Until next time

Weekend in Virginia!!

This weekend Ruth Ann and I went to Virginia to visit her boyfriend. We left on Friday evening and on the way down my mom called and said that her mother had passed away 10 min. Earlier and that she was going to be spending the night with Martha her sister that took care of grandma. And ahe also told us to enjoy our weekend and try to be home for the viewing on Sunday. We got where we were going to be sleeping that night at 11:30.

The next morning we were up and at em by 5:00 then we went over to Tyler's house and talked a bit then Ruth Ann and Tyler went to help his mother at her stand where she sells baked goods for the day and I headed up to Mountain View which is about 2 hours from where Tyler lives.

I got at Mountain View by 8:30 then I went down to the girls dorm to help my friends Elana pack all her belongings because she was moving out the next day. Some of the staff there was going to Ihop for breakfast so Elana and I decided to go along. It was so much fun the ride down was so entertaining!! When we got there we waited to be seated for an hour and when we sat down it took a bit to get our food but we did have 15 people so it was understandable.

When we got back to the home we helped set up for the fair well that evening. Once we were done it looked so nice you would have thought it was a wedding reception!! The fair well was so nice!! The people said such nice things about the people who were fair welling I think that they were very special to the people at Mountain View. After the banquet we went down to the girls dorm to open up gifts and they didn't finish up until after 11:30.

On Sunday we headed home at 8:00 so we could be home by 12:30 so we would be home for dinner. Then we had the viewing the viewings were from 2-4 and 6-8. It was so nice to see all the people that came through and to hang out with my cousins again. The funeral was on Monday it was a very nice funeral my grandma was a very sweet compassionate lady. She looked so peaceful.

Well I hope you all have a good week!!

Our Weekend trip

This past weekend my family did something very spontaneous and fun we traveled to Connecticut and Massachusetts to drop off parts at a customer and to go to Boston. We loaded all the parts and luggage up on Thursday evening and then we headed out on Friday morning we went to a local diner for breakfast then we headed out we drove for 5 hours and we hit some really bad traffic in CT then we headed over to the customer's garage and he wanted to go out to dinner with us so we went to our all time favorite Olive Garden we had so much fun hanging out with him again!! We then headed to the motel for the night.

The next morning we ate breakfast at the motel then we headed out to Boston we arrived in Boston at 11:30 then we drove around quite a bit and we found the Paul Revere house and we couldn't park so we went and found the trolley where we could hop on and off all day long and still see all the hot spots. We rode around and saw the entire Boston :)!! Then it was time for supper and we wanted to eat on the pier so there was a restaurant called the No Name Restaurant it was SO good Ruth Ann and I got dishes that had several types of fish on and dad got shrimp, mom got lobster, and Rachel got a cheeseburger. Best meal I have had in awhile. After we left there we went and checked into our motel.

As some of you may know about a month ago I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled well while we were on vacation the one side of my mouth started hurting so I just took pain meds but on Sat. it started swelling and then on Sunday morning it was swollen so bad I couldn't close my mouth at all. So since we didn't have any of my pain meds along we decided to head for home a day early so I could go see the doctor on Mon. So we traveled home on Sun. and then on Mon, I went to the oral surgeon and he cleaned out the hole and prescribed some antibiotics. Now to Heal :)

Hope you all have a good day it is raining here today!!

Wonder of Wonders

The song Wonder of Wonders has been running through my head the last couple of days and it has me thinking about the message of the song and how much Jesus gave up to come down to earth to die on the cross so that one day if we accept his salvation we can go live with him.

VERSE 1
THE WONDER OF WONDERS AS SHE LOOKED ON HIS FACE
THAT THIS LITTLE BOY SPOKE THE WORLDS IN THEIR PLACE
THE STARS AND THE MOON, SHINNING BRIGHTLY ON THEM
THE EARTH AND THE SUN WERE CREATED BY HIM
VERSE2
THE WONDER OF WONDERS AS SHE HEARD HIS SMALL CRY
THAT THIS VOICE HAD THUNDERED ON MOUNT SINAI
THE HAND THAT SHE HELD SO TENDERLY
HAD MADE A DRY PATH THRU THE MIGHTY RED SEA
VERSE 3
THE WONDER OF WONDERS AS SHE LOOKED DOWN AND SMILED
THAT HE WAS HER MAKER AS WELL AS HER CHILD
HE CREATED THE WOMB THAT HAD GIVEN HIM BIRTH
HE WAS GOD INCARNATE COME DOWN TO THE EARTH.
CHORUS
THE WONDER OF WONDERS OH HOW COULD IT BE
THAT GOD BECAME FLESH AND WAS GIVEN FOR ME
THE ALMIGHTY CAME DOWN AND WALKED AMONG MEN
THE WONDER OF WONDERS HE DIED FOR MY SIN

Just think about how much Jesus did for me and you he came down and lived like us for many years and experienced many things like we do and many more things. He suffered many temptations and he did one of the hardest things ever and suffered very much to make it so we could one day live with him.

Flowers

The beautiful flowers my wonderful friend brought they are so pretty and I am enjoying them so much!!!

My week!!

Life has been keeping me busy here of late. I only have about a month and half of work anymore and there is a lot to be done before I am prepared to leave. I have a litter of puppies right now and so that makes my life a little more busy ,but I wouldn't trade them for anything they are the cutest things ever. I have 8 puppies right now and have 6 sold and 2 males to go.

My dad got some one to help him take tractors apart. It is a very nice set up because he takes them to his house two at a time and then when he his done he brings all the parts back and we put them away then we load two more up and he takes them to his house. It takes him about a week to do two right now but as he gets better at it I think it will go faster for him.

Ruth Ann's dog Lucy went into heat about 10 days ago so we took her to the breeder on Friday last week and hopefully she gets bred this time. The people that had her before tried to breed her once or twice and never were successful so hopefully this time we can get her.

On Wednesday one of the ladies I sold a puppy to two years ago brought the puppy back for me to babysit for a couple days. I love when people bring their puppies back for me to see. She is such a beautiful puppy. She has her long beautiful hair and lots of feathers on her legs. She is a replica of her mother she is very dark colored.

Well I hope ya'll have a good week!!! I am recovering from surgery right now. I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out on Monday via oral surgery. So now the next couple of days I have off but not because I want to. Thank you to all my friends for the encouragement and also to my friend Emily for the flowers :).

3 Years Old!!

On August 29, 2011 this beautiful girl and her littermates were born. But they weren't born at my house they were born at New Holland Vet via c-section after the surgery I brought my first litter of puppies home to raise. And after months of reading books and pouring over the internet I thought I knew alot about raising puppies well boy was I in for a shock. They made me grow up really quick and gave me lots of experience and happiness and tears :).

I knew I was going to keep one of the puppies and it took me weeks till I picked out Matilda and I am so happy I did I couldn't ask for a better dog, oh sure she has her quirks and makes me upset at times , but I wouldn't trade her for anything. She makes me smile at her antics and her very expressive face and I love how protective she is of me and her puppies. And I can't believe she turned 3 already where did the time go? Ok I am done being sappy :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATILDA!!!!!

Anxiety??

Something that has been on my mind very heavily lately is this thing that people call anxiety and it is something I struggle and deal with on a daily basis. I actually have had an anxiety attack a couple of times in my life ,but until a couple of years ago until a very good friend pointed out and described what it was I never fully understood what that total out of control feeling really was. And once I knew what it was I could then work on how to control it and take care of it.

One of the key reasons people deal with anxiety is worry and worry comes from when we are focused on the world and since the world is full of sin and things going wrong we get scared and feel insecure. If all the people in the world (including me) would constantly trust God and know that he has a plan and a purpose for our lives ,and that he has us all in the palm of his hand we would no longer have the problem of worry and then our anxiety would fade away!!

Here is an article that was very helpful to me it goes over the points of dealing with worry and anxiety. Trust me I do not have this area in my life totally taken care of I still deal with it but learning to pray about it and trusting God with every aspect of my life (which is a day-to-day thing as well) has definitely helped!!

Overcoming Anxiety

Dealing with Anxiety and Worry

By

Do you often deal with anxiety? Are you consumed with worry? You can learn to manage these emotions by understanding what the Bible says about them. In this excerpt from his book, Truth Seeker - Straight Talk From The Bible, Warren Mueller studies the keys in God's Word to overcoming your struggles with anxiety and worry.

Anxiety (Worry)

Life is full of many concerns stemming from the absence of certainty and control over our future. While we can never be completely free from worry, the Bible shows us how to minimize worry and anxiety in our lives. Philippians 4:6-7 says do not worry about anything, but with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your requests known to God and then the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Pray About Life's Worries

Believers are commanded to pray about life's worries. These prayers are to be more than requests for favorable answers. They are to include thanksgiving and praise along with the needs. Praying in this way reminds us of the many blessings God continually gives us whether we ask or not. This reminds us of God's great love for us and that He knows and does what is best for us.

A Sense of Security in Jesus

Worry is proportional to our sense of security. When life is going as planned and we feel safe in our life routines, then worries subside. Likewise, worry increases when we feel threatened, insecure or are overly focused on and committed to some result. 1 Peter 5:7 says cast your cares upon Jesus because He cares for you. The practice of believers is to take our worries to Jesus in prayer and leave them with Him. This reinforces our dependence on, and faith in Jesus.

Recognize a Wrong Focus

Worries increase when we become focused on the things of this world. Jesus said the treasures of this world are subject to decay and can be taken away but heavenly treasures are secure (Matthew 6:19). Therefore, set your priorities on God and not on money (Matthew 6:24). Man worries about such things as having food and clothes but is given life by God. God provides life, without which the concerns of life are meaningless.
Worry can cause ulcers and mental problems that can have destructive health effects that shorten life. No amount of worry will add even one hour to one's life (Matthew 6:27). Therefore, why worry? The Bible teaches that we should deal with each day's problems when they occur and not be obsessed with future concerns that may not happen (Matthew 6:34).

Focus on Jesus

In Luke 10:38-42, Jesus visits the house of the sisters Martha and Mary. Martha was busy with many details regarding making Jesus and his disciples comfortable. Mary, on the other hand, was sitting at the feet of Jesus listening to what he said. Martha complained to Jesus that Mary should be busy helping but Jesus told Martha that "…you are worried and anxious about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:41-42)
What is this one thing that freed Mary from the business and worries experienced by her sister? Mary chose to focus on Jesus, listen to Him and ignore the immediate demands of hospitality. I do not believe that Mary was being irresponsible, rather she wanted to experience and learn from Jesus first and later, when He was done speaking, she would fulfill her duties. Mary had her priorities straight. Put God first and He will free us from worries and take care of the rest of our concerns.

My Story

There is one simple and main purpose all of us were brought into this world and that was to bring honor and glory to God and he has called us to go into the uttermost parts of the world and spread the word of God to all people in the world. To some of us that means being right where we are planted and witness to the people around us ,to other people it means going away from home (no matter how far away) and taking God's word into other places of the world.

This has been on my mind a lot lately probably because I am moving away from home to go into mission work ,but not only that but because it has been paining my heart to see the Christian youth of today walk away from everything they have ever known and been taught since they were young and go the opposite direction saying that God was telling them to walk away from their faith. Oh if only they would know the sadness and regret that will fill them when they stand in front of the Lord and he says "I never knew you" they may not care now , but I guarantee they will care when Judgment day comes.

I think this subject is so important to me because I haven't always been the Christian I should have been and have done some things in my youth (even though I am still youth) that I regret very much but then I came to the realization one day ( a couple years ago) that if I had died that day I would not have gone to the wonderful eternal home I had been anticipating going to. That is the day I gave my life over to Christ totally and completely and told him "God this is no longer my life it is yours you can do as you please with it and me" And that is total surrender and when that happens God will move. It didn't happen instantly but I grew closer to God and as that happened I felt called to "go" and serve God elsewhere and I had the distinct feeling I was no longer where God wanted me.

Of course the process was much slower than that :) I had no idea where God wanted me to go ,but I figured in his good time he would show me and he has, it was amazing and funny to watch how God pushed me in the direction he wanted me to go!! I can honestly say I feel I am at the place as far as where I am (location wise) is where God wants me. It was by no means an easy road and now that I can finally see the end of all the very hard decisions as far as preparing my heart and mind to leave home and telling my dad are over I can honestly say I am now sitting back and enjoying the ride and watching God work.

Well that is maybe more than you wanted to know ,but I felt led to share my heart. Hopefully it has encouraged or inspired someone!! All Glory goes to God!!!

God is Good All the Time!!

Ahhhh my heart is full right now. It makes me so happy to see Ruth Ann happy about dating, that girl smiles all the time. The only downside she thinks that since she is dating she wants everyone around her to be as happy as she is :) her comment the other day proved that to me. She said "I am going to pray really hard that you meet the man God has for you and he sweeps you off your feet" I just smiled and nodded. I think it is so funny how dating couples want everyone around them to be dating as well :)

Well this week has been a very exciting and profitable week. I got my acceptance letter from Mountain View and John called me as well and told me that he is sending my letter off but he wanted to personally tell me that I was accepted and wondered if I had any questions. I will probably be moving Lord willing in mid November. He is hoping it doesn't go into December but he can't tell this far ahead when all the people are going to be leaving. It is going to be really exciting because the month after I come they will probably be moving into the new girls dorm that they are in the process of building. So that is definitely something to look forward to!!

The due date for the puppies is coming up here very rapidly and I am starting to get momma and the kennel ready for delivery. She is starting to slow down but her eating is still very good so we are still on schedule. Tomorrow it is 3 weeks exactly to her due date so we shall see if she goes early or late this time!! I will let ya'll know when they are born. But if you know of anyone who want a golden puppy send them my way :).

I went out to breakfast with a friend from school on Saturday and it was so nice to catch up again and see how she was doing. She is going to be moving to Bradford County to teach school for this coming school term. So that was something her and I could relate to because we will both be away from our families for a long period of time!!! But it is an exciting adventure and I believe we will both learn a lot from our time away and hopefully grow spiritually.

Well I hope you all have a good week and hopefully have a smile on your face!! I know this saying is so cliché but SMILE GOD LOVES YOU!!!

It's all in Perspective!!

Life brings many surprises and changes some of them good and some of them we appreciate, but then there are other we really hate to go through but out on the other side we see that the circumstances in life has made us better people in the long run!! And this is really awesome to see especially if we take the time to notice that God has been working in our lives to better us. Our family has been experiencing some of these huge changes in our lives! My older sister started dating on July 4th and that was a really happy and good change ,but still it is a change and something we have to get used to.

And I am planning Lord willing to move down to Virginia for a term of service. I am planning to go for a year ,but it will probably turn out to be a year and a half. I am planning on leaving in November. I don't know what dad is planning  on doing as far as the business for right now he and mom are going to be keeping it afloat by themselves ,but I think come summer he will need to hire someone. I am not positive what I am going to be doing , but as it sounded I am going to be in the kitchen and those of you that know me well will smile because you know I am NOT a good cook and I burn things a lot :) but I think with time it will come easier.

So those are some of the changes that have been going on around here. I have been staying very busy since we got back from vacation. I already have the puppies advertised and now have 2 people on the waiting list :) which is very nice. This litter is really special to me because it may be my last one forever I kind of doubt it because I love puppies but I never know what may come up in the year that I am gone. Ruth Ann is planning to breed her dog Lucy next month and I am really happy about that because then I will be able to see them before I leave.

It was really funny I was on the phone with one of my dog contact people (who actually happens to own Duke's dad) and I had talked to her numerous times before and well this time we actually got into a deep conversation and when I told her I owned one of her dog's children she was like ok so we probably saw him when I was at your house and I was like oh you know me and she said oh yes I have known you since you were a baby. Here her and her husband used to go to our church. (talk about funny).

Well it is pouring down rain here this evening so I am going to go listen to it rain :) Until Next time.

Family Vacation 2014

Our family went on a family vacation this past week the funny thing is we didn't even know where we were going until we left Monday morning so we went out for breakfast to make the final decision about where we wanted to go and to fill our tummies. We then decided to go up to Bradford County and spend some time up there with some old friends of mom and dad. Mom and dad lived up there about 18 yrs ago and they hadn't seen anyone from there since. They lived up there for three years to help start the church up there and then moved back down again before I was born. Anyways so we hung out at their place which was really fun because I remember them very vaguely but I remembered their house and the beautiful view of the place and the woods. The house my parents used to live in is directly across from their house and this is pretty much what you will see up there.
yup trees and they are gorgeous!!! So after we left their house we went back to our motel and decided what we wanted to do the next day, so since this trip was totally unplanned we could plan anything we wanted.
The next morning we slept in until 10:00 then we went to this local family restaurant and they served fish. Well our family loves fish so that's what we ordered. Everyone ordered the baked Haddock and I ordered the grilled haddock because I am not one for much breaded things. Oh we waited awhile for it but oh it was so good beats the fish we get around this area. After breakfast we headed up to New York and we were on our way to Watkins Glenn but on the way there dad saw this Cub Cadet dealership that he wanted to stop at so we stopped and he bought a Cub Cadet so we unloaded all our suitcases and loaded the Cub up. We drove the rest of the way up to Corning New York which is about a half hour from Watkins Glenn and we checked into a motel and ate supper and planned the next day.
We got up around 9:00 and ate breakfast at the motel then we headed out to Watkins Glenn it is this beautiful park that has some very gorgeous waterfalls and hiking trails. We had been there before but we decided to go again because we were close and we had enjoyed it so much the last time.
This is a picture of one of the waterfalls and it was worth the 20 min. it took for us to take this picture. We wanted it without any people on it so we just waited until there were no people. This picture I took with my phone which I thought it got pretty good. We only hiked half of the trail because we got tired. And we weren't even going that fast because we kept taking pictures of the falls and ourselves :) but we had good reasons Ruth Ann was taking pictures of me for my prayer card and I took a picture of her for her boyfriend. :)

After we left Watkins Glenn we went over to the boating place across the street and we got on the boat ride!! It is a very beautiful boat ride and we went past US Salt which I think he said is one of the biggest salt plants in the US and there is enough salt in  the hole they dig from to feed the world for the next 600 years WOW that's a lot of salt. The boat ride was for an hour and once we got off we went in the gift shop but didn't really find anything then we went to find a place to eat and found this really cute sandwich/ice cream shop and we ate there. After dinner Ruth Ann and I decided to go shopping in the little village right across from the park we found this really cute gift shop so we bought some birthday presents for some people :) then we headed back to the motel and we took naps :) hey it's vacation!!!!!!!!! After the slept a bit we decided to go into Corning and see what we could see. Definitely could tell we weren't in Lancaster County because the shops weren't all that great nor were they that organized.
On Thursday we headed down to Williamsport and we found this place that had a paddle boat and we decided to do that but we were disappointed because it was run off two engines instead of the paddle in the back. So much for false advertising :).
After we were done with that we decided to find a motel and got one right in the city so again Ruth Ann and I decided to go see what the city had to offer as far as shops this town was a lot better as far as that they had a really cute bookstore and another shop that had some really awesome gist I found this plaque made by Willow Tree of a girl hugging a puppy so I decided to get that :) then we decided we had shopped long enough so we went back to our motel. Everyone was hungry se we went into the food section of town to find something to eat and we found an Olive Garden and we ate there it had been awhile since we ate at one and guess what they didn't even have our favorite thing on the menu (our customers will laugh at this because there is a funny story behind why I said that) :) anyways so we found something else that we liked and it turned out to be really good!! I love their salad and breadsticks probably the best. After supper Rachel and I went swimming then we had frozen yogurt for snack :)!!!!
On Friday we were going to go on a train ride that dad had went on awhile ago well it must have been a long time ago cause we found out they scrapped the train in 1997 :) so no train ride for us. We were meeting one of our good friends for dinner at the place we always meet them at and that was Wendy's. So we were there for about two hours and then we headed for home and we were going to stop in Hershey to find a motel but no one had an opening so we decided to drive the whole way home and find a campground and go camping. So there is this campground about 3 miles from our house so we packed up the tent and air beds and went up there while mom and Ruth Ann set up the tent I stayed home and cleaned the dog pen and spent some good quality time with my dogs. It was so refreshing to do something by myself away from the family. That evening we went to Kountry Korner  a vey good family restaurant near us and on the way to the campground for supper. When we got there we started a fire and roasted some marshmallows for s'mores!!
Saturday morning we went out for breakfast at the Evergreen Diner and then we went to the store to buy food for Sunday and the rest of that day. When we got back it was really hot so we all except for mom decided to go swimming that was so much fun because I dumped Ruth Ann in the pool twice :) After we went swimming we were hungry so we roasted some hotdogs then dad went home to sleep and the rest of us slept there I slept good until it started to downpour and it dripped on my nose a couple of times :) so we had to go home and take care of the animals anyhow so we went home took care of the animals and then a customer came with a tractor and we unloaded him then we went and ate supper then headed back to the campground and sat around the campfire until it was time to go to bed!!!
AHHHH such a relaxing week! But there is no place like home.
Until next time ~Rose Mary

Chorus Tour 2014!!!

Hello all,
This week our chorus is on tour!! We have been traveling down south so far we have been in Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, and now we are headed to Tennessee!! I love giving programs because it is a blessing to both the audience and us as a chorus.

Being on the bus is alot of fun as well because we have so many people around us who we know and so many conversations going around us!! There have been a few interesting things that have happened so far and one of them was the one church we went to had a reputation that when they had choruses come people would faint so Wes (our director) told us this and everyone was then really nervous :) so he was explaining something he wanted to change in one of the songs and he then asked if we heard and one of the guys was like "no we are too busy fainting up here":)

The one place we went to was in the state of Mississippi and the one home that somoene from the chorus stayed at had, had a tornado about a year ago and it had taken all their buildings and alot of their belongings ,but now a year later they have rebuilt and are up and running again!!

We did a total of 8 programs and I believe they all went well. We didnt have as many people that were sick this year as we did last year but the one girl got a temperature of 103 degrees on Saturday and she felt horrible and on Monday when she got home she went to the doc and he said she has Pneumonia. The only pther person who got sick was me. I got a migrane on Wednesday and fortunatly was gone by Thursday evening!!

Well that was my week and it went great!!

Crazy Couple Weeks

Wow May is almost over this summer is going to be gone before I am even near ready for it to be. The past two weeks have been crazy busy. As some of you know I have been getting ready to move away to VA and I sent my last application in about a week ago, so I am waiting to hear from them now.

A week ago a senior class from Terre Hill were down in Grenada and one of their fellow classmates drowned. That has hit the senior classes really hard especially the one down there because they had a classmate that stayed home because he had doctors orders to stay home because he is in the last stages of bone cancer. If you think of them pray for them as the funeral is today.

Yesterday was a difficult day for me because Duke was at the vet all day having "surgery" getting his hip certified and when I went to pick him up he was very loopy he looked very worn out and tired. And while I was there I gave them the paperwork of one of the puppies that is coming back just to make sure that what the people say is wrong with it that ,that is for sure the problem.

And I also sold my goats yesterday which was very hard for me because I had raised them since they were three months old. I miss them already their little bleeting sounds and soft noses. But God has a reason for everything even though we don't understand it and I wouldn't give up the fun and experience I got from having them.

Well hope you all have a blessed day and don't get wet :)!!

FOR SALE (read description)

These two beauties are up for sale and the only reason they are is because I am going into the mission
field and am unable to keep them. Thumper (the male) (he is castrated) is very laid back and such a sweetheart and I love him to bits! Flower (the female) would be known as "Quiet-till-known" she can be a little jumpy at first but is such a sweetheart once she knows you!

I have had them since they are three months old and they are half siblings and have been together since birth so they will stay together I will NOT sell them separately. I am asking $300 OBO. Call me only if you are truly interested in the goats. Thanks (717) 271-4563
